Captain Molasses is a 21-year-old Standardbred gelding with a heart as steady as his stride. He came to us through the Standardbred Retirement Foundation after his previous adopter, who had been training him for therapy work, suffered an unfortunate accident.

With his calm demeanor, patient spirit, and intuitive connection to people, Cap was a natural fit for our program. He’s a gentle giant in every sense — tall, soft-eyed, and endlessly kind. Whether he’s quietly standing beside someone in need of comfort or lending his steady presence during a trail ride, Captain Molasses brings a deep sense of safety and ease to everyone he meets.

His journey is a reminder that even after life takes an unexpected turn, there’s still purpose, healing, and a role to play in helping others find peace.
